A Flemish models photographer (but only during the weekends) sent me a PM telling me that as long as i continued to make images with strange costumes, weird headpieces and "other bizarre items" no serious and self-respecting model would even consider working with me because such images simply don't belong in a model's portfolio.

And he got me thinking.. because.. he is probably right.
And I do make pictures without the things he pointed out.. BUT If a model (m/v/+) takes everything so seriously that they would never consider shoots with fantasy/scifi/historical/horror/.. elements then maybe a collab might simply not be a good idea. I like having fun and doing strange stuff when i feel like it.

It’s always good to take a step back and look at your life through a different perspective.

O-well, maybe he meant it well and he simply wasn't very skilled in the Fine Arts of Constructive Criticism and Basic Grammar? 

So I went to check out his pictures: 70x model in studio with black backdrop and a white box, 70x model in studio with white backdrop and white box, 70x model outdoors shot at f8 to f16 with a 75-300mm f4-5.6 zoomlens?
Maybe he should have corrected me also for not making 200x the exact same picture or for shooting portraits with prime lenses at openings of f1.2 up to f4.. maybe he'll PM me again to point these "errors" of mine out.. who knows?
Meanwhile I'll just continue having fun and laugh at these 3 Tom Hardy memes.

This article is about using (vintage) Minolta/Sigma/Sony/Tamron/.. A-mount lenses on contemporary Sony E-mount cameras. Since the Sony LA-EA5 adapter has been released I have been answering dozens of the same questions about compatibility issues from both retailers and end-users. Some questions & personal experiences with the different adapters were special, so I have tested some combinations and made a small list of my findings. Event - Geek Village Genk (2024)

A heads-up: on November 17th 2024 we'll be hosting a videobooth on Geek Village ( Thor Central, Genk ) in room 12 ( named Trovao ). Collab - D'Ursel cosplay day (2024)

Eventhough many September days in 2024 feel more like November days, on Sunday the 15th it was good to be outside. Outside in the park of castle d'Ursel in Hingene the infamous Geert had gathered yet again a mass of cosplayers & photogs and as always I had hidden my set, this time behind an old wall. No line of sight onto the castle, but perfect for " Cosplayers with natural light " & some " Extreme shoot through ". Why not use the castle as a backdrop, you might ask?  It's a pretty castle, yes. It has one really interesting side, alas it was too crowded to build a set & get a constant, uninterupted view. On a quiet day I'll gladly combine the front of the castle with an epoque gown.. but that sunny Sunday was NOT a quiet day. Collab - Dryad fantasy boudoir

Sometimes models come with a boudoir proposition that both sparks my interest and comes at a moment where I have the time to execute it: fantasy boudoir with a Dryad and an Elf in a magical forest .. but softer than the work for The Dark Cathedral and non-nude. " OK, let's do it ," I nodded while already scrolling through my cramped agenda. Evidently I needed a location.. and a back-up location.. just in case . A magical meadow with wildflowers, tree-filtered light and surrounded by young treelings that I had spotted during a hike just days before seemed perfect. A Monday-shoot would ensure that few to no hikers would interfere. Evidently Murphy's law struck, as during the last check at the location a crew was mowing everything away. No worries, for there's a plan B: a bit further into the wild where I had previously done a barbarian shoot . Water, young green trees, awesome eventhough with less magical light. We were so scared! Scared it would rain.. Being wet all day isn't fun. Having the car getting stuck in a drowned parking meadow is not optimal. Getting the cameras soaked is really bad.. but the worst about rain is the mud & puddles that make everything impassable with a wheelchair However there was no need to be scared: Castlefest had some nice Sunday Summer weather! Landscape - Le Massif Central

You are completely correct when you think: ▷ Sometimes a person needs to leave their comfort zone to feel comfortable. ▷ The person that comes down a mountain isn't always the same as the person who went up the mountain. ▷ Sometimes when you feel troubled, all you need is a mountain. Once you get to the top of it and watch the world from above, you quickly find a different perspective. Maybe your troubles aren't as insurmountable as they seemed before the purifying climb.  So it was time for another offroad roadtrip with the mates. The original plans were for another trip through the Pyrenees mountain range, but these plans changed last minute into a start in Burgundy ( the dreaded Morvan, to be more precise ) and headed into the volcanic mountain range of the Massif Central . Following large parts of the pilgrim's hiking paths towards St. Jacques of Compostella we quickly realized that these trails were really tailormade for hikers, goat shepherd s or slender quads

Hey, don't you wanna know how I've been since I left you behind? (sic ISE) Only last year, in 2023, I discovered there was a music festival in Tongeren. Several bands on the list like were frequently played on the alternative radio station I listen to ( Willy Radio ). On top of that it was held in several locations scattered throughout the medieval beguinage. So I had to shoot it.. at least once..  I went for Isbells & Johannes is zijn naam . I discovered Echo Beatty , Roufaida & the fun of Lupagangang . Got Iron Maiden-beer & ice-cream to cool off. It was a good day.. so let's if 2024 can be as good. Collab - Halloween at Verbeke Foundation

Have I ever told you the story about a shooting day during which I survived all day on 1 glass of white wine? Well, that day was yesterday.  Now, knowing myself, this could easily become a long & boring story so I'll stick to the famous 6-points synopsys: ▷ Drove from the South-East of Limburg to the Verbeke Foundation, a unique and quirky museum for modern art in East-Flanders and got there really early, ▷ Started shooting cosplayers in full Halloween mode near a derelict train-crane, ▷ Drank 1 glass of white wine, ▷ Shot even more Halloween cosplayers till 15minutes after the museum had closed, ▷ Suddenly realized I had completely forgotten to eat, drink, be polite & socialize.. again. ▷ The end?
