You might think you know the city center of Antwerpen (Antwerp) pretty well, but have you ever explored its underground labyrinth? Its the Underworld: De ruien in Antwerpen are the underground network of medieval canals throughout the eldest parts of the city that were  overarched during the centuries of early industrialisation and are now hidden deep underneath the old city. Drugs can most definately destroy you, your life and the lives of those close to you. Once in it's claws, escaping is harder than anyone can imagine. The craving for the next fix is the only focus in a junkie's life. Living for that one goal.. one that will inevitably lead to doom, destruction and death. Still: don't blindly judge a person simply because they need drugs to get through life. This person might very well be your friend, your lover, your parent, your sibling, your child or even yourself. The Coronawalks & post-Corona hikes in my new neighborhood have shown me many pretty sights and one SO ugly it became beautiful again. I so want to use this as a backdrop for a post-apocalyptic portrait.. but what are the chances of getting these strong clouds back? Urbex locations have their charm when combined with living models. This was a very raw & dehumanizing BDSM- & vegetarian-minded shoot. More on Flickr . Brandenburg (Germany) is a great place to urbex.. as long as you don't get caught!  Some Lost Places lie hidden in the woods, others are guarded and need bribes to enter. Most have been found by other urbexers and ransacked.. Once in a while one looks like only Nature has done the ransacking.  Some are putrid and poisonous. Others hide little birds and colourful art. There is beauty in decay.. and yet: most of the time you're glad to find a way out before the sun sets. More images are on Flickr
