Brandenburg (Germany) is a great place to urbex.. as long as you don't get caught! 

Some Lost Places lie hidden in the woods, others are guarded and need bribes to enter. Most have been found by other urbexers and ransacked.. Once in a while one looks like only Nature has done the ransacking. 
Some are putrid and poisonous. Others hide little birds and colourful art. There is beauty in decay.. and yet: most of the time you're glad to find a way out before the sun sets.

This article is about using (vintage) Minolta/Sigma/Sony/Tamron/.. A-mount lenses on contemporary Sony E-mount cameras. Since the Sony LA-EA5 adapter has been released I have been answering dozens of the same questions about compatibility issues from both retailers and end-users. Some questions & personal experiences with the different adapters were special, so I have tested some combinations and made a small list of my findings. Event - Cars & Coffee Tongeren (2026)

null This Cars & Coffee-meeting was again hosted by Café Poorthuis in Tongeren. If the name of this event rings a bell, that might be because there are C&C-meetings all over the world.  "Cars & Coffee is the global phenomenon where the passion of supercar owners and enthusiasts become reality. It is a world class, multibrand and multiperiod display to share the emotions conveyed by the roar of powerful engines and by the sight of so many stunning cars",   Is what the  official Cars & Coffee website  states. However: their events have ceased since 2022 and yet in the following weeks there will be similarly named meetings all over Europe.  The multibrand and multiperiod statements were absolutely true for the Tongeren meeting. Oldtimers, youngtimers, brand new supercars and the occasional hypercar.  Brits, Germans, Japanese, Americans, French, Scandinavians, Dutch and evidently some fiery Italians. Event - Kermis Tongeren (2026)

Waarom zeg ik steeds ja zodra ik gevraagd word om enkele beelden te maken op een kermis? Smoutebollen! Maar zal ik daar nog lang van kunnen genieten? Het fenomeen waarbij een heel kermisdorp van stad naar stad reist — zoals nu van Tongeren-Borgloon naar de Kermis in Hasselt — is typisch West-Europees . Hoewel vermaak universeel is, is de specifieke cultuur van de reizende foor die het openbare stadsgezicht tijdelijk overneemt, diep geworteld in de geschiedenis van de Lage Landen, Frankrijk en Duitsland.  De Belgische kermiscultuur is uniek en veerkrachtig: op 4 december 2024 werd de Belgische kermiscultuur  trouwens officieel erkend als UNESCO Immaterieel Cultureel Erfgoed. Love the person you fall in love with.. and be happy if that person loves you back.  Be the person you feel you are.. and live your life in peace and in harmony with the world. Is the situation good if you have to copy the main body of text from last years' events? If a situation is good, it's a good sign. If a situation is dire or even sketchy.. then.. Never forget that a Pride is actually a protest march to make you remember that there are compatriots of yours struggling to have the same rights & possibilities as you just because they refuse to hide their true feelings & their true self in the bottom drawer of a dark closet like so many did before them in order to comply with a general opinion that was imposed on people by several dogmatic, patriarchal religions and authoritarian politicians. Het landschap van de boekenbeurzen in Vlaanderen is de afgelopen jaren fundamenteel veranderd , mede door het wegvallen van de traditionele Antwerpse Boekenbeurs die ik jarenlang trouw bezocht voor werk en plezier. Na het faillissement van die oude Boekenbeurs ontstond er een groot gat. Dat is niet zozeer opgevuld door honderden kleine rommelmarkten, maar wel door een nieuwe generatie thematische, intieme beurzen én de razendsnelle opkomst van Boektopia.  In plaats van één gigantische hal waar alles samenkwam, kiezen nieuwe initiatieven resoluut voor één genre of doelgroep (zoals Fabel Fest voor fantasy of StoryHeaven in Brussel). Voor Belgische (en vooral Vlaamse) auteurs zijn deze beurzen cruciaal geworden, maar op een andere manier dan vroeger.  Enerzijds is er het  direct lezerscontact.   Grote auteurs stonden vroeger urenlang mechanisch te signeren in Antwerpen. Sony tech - Save/load camera settings

It's true: once you have completely set-up your Sony Alpha / FX-camera to your likings as I showed you in this video / article , you can save those settings in some of the cameras. This feature can be found on the following Sony cameras at the moment : A7RIV, A9II, A7SIII, A1, A7IV, FX6, FX3, FX30, A7RV. And it seems to be an overlooked feature, judging by the astonished reactions during the trainings I give. 1. What? Save/load settings means you can load a series of settings onto you camera from a memory card or from your phone via the free Sony Imaging Edge Mobile app. Other way around you can save some of your settings onto a memory card or onto your phone. On a memory card you can save 10 settings. ( SD or CFExpress A, depending on your camera) On your phone you can save 22 settings. ( Which are most of the important settings ) Some info you cannot save due to privacy regulations ( Copyright info for example ) You cannot swap settings between different camera types at ...

Sony tech - Rename your photo & video files in-camera

Normally all your photos will be named " DSC123 " and your videos " C123 ". But that's the best way to loose oversight, to overwrite and to forget what was shot when/with which camera. There are solutions for this in the new and newest Sony Alpha / FX / ZV / RX - cameras PHOTO FILES You should give your photo files personalized names instead of that generic ”Dsc” prefix. This is possible on the current Alpha, Rx, Zv, and FX‐cameras from Sony. I give mine the prefix of the used camera because I work with several cameras. But you might just as well use something more personal like something that points to your name or your company / brand name. Or even change the name temporarily if you have a big project. Why? Sony tech - How to use the A7SIII with an APS-C / Super 35mm lens?

During training with the Sony A7SIII a common question I get is: since you can't use Super 35 mode in 4k video,  can you still use APS-C lenses to film with? It's logical that you can't use Super 35 mode (= APS-C sized video mode) in 4k since the A7SIII films 4.2k in full sensor readout. Hence you can only use the Super 35 mode in FHD (1080p). In Sony full frame mirrorless cameras you can always switch between using the camera full frame or in APS-C. For photo you always sacrifice megapixels. The A9/A9II/A7II/A7III's 24MP becomes 10MP in APS-C, A7RIII's 42MP becomes a usuable 18MP in APS-C, A7RIV's 61MP becomes a very decent 26MP in APS-C. The advantage for photo is that you can turn a 600mm lens into a 900mm lens without teleconvertor.
