You read that right: Have a great 2024 ! Try to make the year count. I'll be doing only a few of the same things I've done in 2023. A short christmassy timelapse video Things that will change in 2024 : ▶ First of all I'll be doing less events. After Covid there was this rush to start over and do as many as possible again, but 2023 left me completely exhausted, stressed, frustrated & anxious. My body told me several times to calm down and after a while even the most stubborn person starts to listen. ▶ Got a season's pass to Pairi Daiza so I'll try to go see the animals instead. Calm down. Relax. ▶ Trying to head into the  Pyrenees mountains again. Leave society & the abundance of their illogical rules behind me for a bit. Recourcing myself & hoping to get in touch with the self I actually liked again. The dude that smiled & dared. ▶ Been wanting to learn new things for a while now.. No: I always want to learn new things, try new things.. acc

Event - Antwerpse Ruien at Halloween

You might think you know the city center of Antwerpen (Antwerp) pretty well, but have you ever explored its underground labyrinth? Its the Underworld: De ruien in Antwerpen are the underground network of medieval canals throughout the eldest parts of the city that were  overarched during the centuries of early industrialisation and are now hidden deep underneath the old city. We visited them during All Hallow's Eve (Halloween) A short video on Clapper: The intrepid explorers If you feel brave: do it after it has rained for a few days so you can wade through the water.. and those lines next to the signs indicating the street or square overhead, are the hight of the water during some recent flash floods. Don't mind the rats, nor the slime, nor the other inhabitants of the Deep. The real enemy here is the humidity ranging between 90% - 95% that will rot everything away. . And don't get lost in the interlinked catacombs beneath the Carrolus Borromeus church, during qu

BOEM ! That's the sound of Medieval cannons after almost 3hrs of sleep the night before and still I'm glad I went to see the great battle of the Quaeye Werelt reenactment.  Here's a short video on Clapper: Cannons & a bard (Put the sound on) Except some flashes of the battle, some honeywine & icecream with great people and a good hearthy meal with friends afterwards.. the day is a blur. I know it was hot. I know icecream fell on my toes, Alex played the lute for me.. I have probably stepped on peoples feet or hit them with the 200-600mm telelens.. or both. Luckily my cameras registered all that my mind has forgotten. .  Let us hope this time we don't have to wait 3 years till the next edition. . I haven't finished all stills..  not yet. Once it's done you can find them here on flickr . Meanwhile you can check where I'll be present next ( once I overcome the fatigue ) via Facebook  And here are a few samples: Link to this article: https:

Landscape - Catching up on backlog

While I'm recovering from surgery I finally have enough time to read some of the books & comics that have been piling up. I can catch up on serials ( ATM enjoying The rig, Alice in Borderland, Willow, Crakau Monsters, Barbaren, Midnight Club, 1899, Mythic Quest,.. Afterwards are planned National Treasure: Edge of History, Star Wars: Andor , The imperfects, Last of us, ..) And at last I can process those gigabytes of RAWs I never had time to look at because work & events always have priority. Please let me know if it was worth processing them or if should have just sent them straight to the trashbin. Find all pictures on Flickr . PS. The nightshot above was selected by Flickr to be featured in their Explore gallery. . . . . . . . . . .
