Let's be really quick and dirty about this event:

▼ There was was an ice-cold wind, but most of the day it was dry,
△ Each time the sun showed itself it was wonderful and we all smiled,
△ Got a superb medieval cape that really helped against the wind,
△ Great food (including pancakes!) and too much mead to taste,
△ Überfriendly people (visitors, reenactors, larpers & vendors.. sorry, I didn't run into anyone of the organisation, nor crew)
△ Excellent location: high upon the ramparts of the old city,
△ Parked by accident right behind the corner of the event,
△ Free parking, free toilets, and a fountain that will be useful during a future hot edition,
△ Music by Skayrish, cannon fire, birds of prey, throwing things (a bad combination with mead),..
△ A fun afternoon eventhough it was tiny.

A heads-up: on November 17th 2024 we'll be hosting a videobooth on Geek Village ( Thor Central, Genk ) in room 12 ( named Trovao ). Sony tech - Using A-mount lenses on E-mount cameras

This article is about using (vintage) Minolta/Sigma/Sony/Tamron/.. A-mount lenses on contemporary Sony E-mount cameras. Since the Sony LA-EA5 adapter has been released I have been answering dozens of the same questions about compatibility issues from both retailers and end-users. Some questions & personal experiences with the different adapters were special, so I have tested some combinations and made a small list of my findings. Yes, at first -back in 2021- I wanted to make this into a Youtube video.. alas I don't like looking at myself so I stopped editing it. Event - Castlefest 2024

We were so scared! Scared it would rain.. Being wet all day isn't fun. Having the car getting stuck in a drowned parking meadow is not optimal. Getting the cameras soaked is really bad.. but the worst about rain is the mud & puddles that make everything impassable with a wheelchair However there was no need to be scared: Castlefest had some nice Sunday Summer weather! Collab - D'Ursel cosplay day (2024)

Eventhough many September days in 2024 feel more like November days, on Sunday the 15th it was good to be outside. Outside in the park of castle d'Ursel in Hingene the infamous Geert had gathered yet again a mass of cosplayers & photogs and as always I had hidden my set, this time behind an old wall. No line of sight onto the castle, but perfect for " Cosplayers with natural light " & some " Extreme shoot through ". Why not use the castle as a backdrop, you might ask?  It's a pretty castle, yes. It has one really interesting side, alas it was too crowded to build a set & get a constant, uninterupted view. On a quiet day I'll gladly combine the front of the castle with an epoque gown.. but that sunny Sunday was NOT a quiet day. Collab - Dryad fantasy boudoir

Sometimes models come with a boudoir proposition that both sparks my interest and comes at a moment where I have the time to execute it: fantasy boudoir with a Dryad and an Elf in a magical forest .. but softer than the work for The Dark Cathedral and non-nude. " OK, let's do it ," I nodded while already scrolling through my cramped agenda. Evidently I needed a location.. and a back-up location.. just in case . A magical meadow with wildflowers, tree-filtered light and surrounded by young treelings that I had spotted during a hike just days before seemed perfect. A Monday-shoot would ensure that few to no hikers would interfere. Evidently Murphy's law struck, as during the last check at the location a crew was mowing everything away. No worries, for there's a plan B: a bit further into the wild where I had previously done a barbarian shoot . Water, young green trees, awesome eventhough with less magical light. Collab - Halloween at Verbeke Foundation

Have I ever told you the story about a shooting day during which I survived all day on 1 glass of white wine? Well, that day was yesterday.  Now, knowing myself, this could easily become a long & boring story so I'll stick to the famous 6-points synopsys: ▷ Drove from the South-East of Limburg to the Verbeke Foundation, a unique and quirky museum for modern art in East-Flanders and got there really early, ▷ Started shooting cosplayers in full Halloween mode near a derelict train-crane, ▷ Drank 1 glass of white wine, ▷ Shot even more Halloween cosplayers till 15minutes after the museum had closed, ▷ Suddenly realized I had completely forgotten to eat, drink, be polite & socialize.. again. ▷ The end? Sony tech - Menu walkthrough for A7CR, A7CII & A6700

What if a title says it all? I'll quickly stroll through the menu of each camera and explain why I choose certain settings. If you're new to the Sony system, if you just bought this camera and you want to set it up, you want to know what's inside the tiny beast or you wonder in general what certain functions/abbreviations mean: this might help you.. a bit.
