Sony tech - Using A-mount lenses on E-mount cameras

This article is about using (vintage) Minolta/Sigma/Sony/Tamron/.. A-mount lenses on contemporary Sony E-mount cameras. Since the Sony LA-EA5 adapter has been released I have been answering dozens of the same questions about compatibility issues from both retailers and end-users. Some questions & personal experiences with the different adapters were special, so I have tested some combinations and made a small list of my findings. Yes, at first -back in 2021- I wanted to make this into a Youtube video.. alas I don't like looking at myself so I stopped editing it. Love the person you fall in love with.. and be happy if that person loves you back.  Be the person you feel you are.. and live your life in peace and in harmony with the world. Never forget that a Pride is actually a protest march to make you remember that there are compatriots of yours struggling to have the same rights & possibilities as you just because they refuse to hide their true feelings & their true self in the bottom drawer of a dark closet like so many did before them in order to comply with a general opinion that was imposed on people by several dogmatic, patriarchal religions and authoritarian politicians. Event - Geek Village Summerfest & Elftopia (2025)

Starting a review with some words of praise seems right. Thank you Elftopia for installing huge umbrellas at the food area so people could eat without getting scorched by the sun ( and guess what; if it rains, those same umbrellas also protect cosplays and cameras ).  Thank you Elftopia for lowering the price of water during the ongoing heatwave.  Thank you Elftopia for making sure there was plenty to see, and to do, other than posing/shooting for photographers/cosplayers, or having a chat with friends, followers & acquintances.  Thank you Elftopia for an efficient, and well-controlled parking system.  Thank you Elftopia for not selling every shot of mead at 7€.  Thank you Elftopia for making the potato field behind the pink chapel finally accessable to diabled persons, and no longer a hazard for ankles. " Support your local artists ," is een uitroep die wordt gebruikt om lokale kunstenaars, musici en andere creatievelingen in een gemeenschap te ondersteunen door hun werk te kopen, tentoonstellingen bij te wonen, of op een andere manier hun zichtbaarheid en succes te vergroten. Spaghetti westerns , a subgenre of western films, are distinguished from older, classic westerns by their production location, cast, and stylistic choices   They were largely produced in Europe, particularly Italy, during the 1960s and 1970s, often featuring Italian directors and casts, with a mix of American and other actors.These films are known for their low budgets, gritty realism, morally ambiguous characters ( often antiheroes ), and a more cynical, violent tone compared to the idealized American westerns featuring clean-cut, heroic cowboys. De titel CRISIS an Sich zou best wel eens kunnen slaan op de geopolitieke crisis , sociale crisis , of klimaatcrisis die de ondergang van een globaal imperium en de val van een socio-economisch systeem aankondigen. Als je bovendien door de foto's van het evenement bladert, stuit je vast ook op postapocalyptische situaties, helse creaturen en oorlogstaferelen.   It's the end of the world, and I feel fine , zong R.E.M. ooit, maar alvorens nu al je bezittingen te verbranden en te wachten op het einde zoals sommige gelovigen in de dagen voor de jaarlijkse " rapture ", misschien toch even duiden dat  CRISIS  een miniature wargames beurs is. Landscape - Extreme bokeh flowers

No, I don't think you have ever seen any flower pictures I've made. As you might know: I love to hike and take pictures while doing so ( like one this for example ) because it relaxes me. Solitary trees , landscapes, buildings,.. it's all just fun and gives zero stress. But once in a while I'll step out of that comfort zone and try to photograph a flower. Evidently zero.. nihil.. nada.. of those moments I have a macro lens with me.. so I use the lenses I have on me.. 99% of the times I'll feel just meh about the results. Yet sometimes.. very sometimes I actually like the effects you get from using lenses for things they really weren't designed for. In June a real extreme bokeh flower specialist (Sony ambassador Bob Baeyens) will give a free webinar about the subject, so make sure to watch that on Zoom or on my Facebook . . Namaste

Collab - Cosplay & LGBTQIA+ awareness video's in de Japanse Tuin

Waar de meesten enkele jaren geleden nog dachten dat de LGBTQIA+ gemeenschap eindelijk de rechten hadden gekregen waar alle mensen recht op hebben, Prides hun protest-aspect niet langer nodig zouden hebben en op termijn konden vervellen tot een feest waar straight en minder straight mekaar kunnen ontmoeten, is de situatie ondertussen erg veranderd. Dit weekend, op zaterdag 28 juni 2025, trokken bijna 200.000 LGBTQIA+-personen, hun Allies en iedereen die geeft om democratische burgerrechten door de straten van Boedapest ondanks een verbod van de hoogste politieke leider, ondanks de strenge straffen die hen te wachten stonden. Overal ter wereld draaien autocratische leiders de rechten van hun burgers terug en de LGBTQIA+-groep lijdt hier enorm onder. In plaats van er enkel verdrietig om te zijn en zich erbij neer te leggen, is de gemeenschap strijdvaardig om niet enkel haar rechten, maar de rechten van alle burgers te verdedigen. Event - El Mundo Fantasia 2023

Mondo Verde, the resort where El Mundo Fantasia takes place, has some of the prettiest locations to make images of the renaissance fairs in the Lowlands. I'm not going to repeat the complete overview of sights I listed in this article last year. You can either read it there or discover it yourself on another edition. Instead let us focus on what happened. Wow, that was an intense & dramatic sounding phrase. Don't be scared. What actually happened was that people saved my day. I know, coming from an asocial ambivert, that's a bold & weird statement. . It was just one of those days. It was too hot (31°C). The 1st 90minutes inside were too crowded. I was feeling too tired & was completly exhaused from long, hard weeks of nearly 24/7-work. I was more focussed on pushing a wheelchair uphill than on photos. My 1st T-shirt was soaked before my 1st shot. All nice spots were swarming with photogs and I went through an extremely introvert phase that day. I had made...

Event - Antwerpse Ruien at Halloween

You might think you know the city center of Antwerpen (Antwerp) pretty well, but have you ever explored its underground labyrinth? Its the Underworld: De ruien in Antwerpen are the underground network of medieval canals throughout the eldest parts of the city that were  overarched during the centuries of early industrialisation and are now hidden deep underneath the old city. We visited them during All Hallow's Eve (Halloween) A short video on Clapper: The intrepid explorers If you feel brave: do it after it has rained for a few days so you can wade through the water.. and those lines next to the signs indicating the street or square overhead, are the hight of the water during some recent flash floods. Don't mind the rats, nor the slime, nor the other inhabitants of the Deep. The real enemy here is the humidity ranging between 90% - 95% that will rot everything away. .
